Filmmaker Competition

Submissions Open January 24, 2026!

Welcome to the Borderless Frames Film Competition. This round is a new edition of Borderless Frames and is focused on recognition, exposure, and community spotlight through laurels, website features, and filmmaker interviews in partnership with @emergingartistsmag.

By submitting, you agree to the rules and terms below.

1. Eligibility

  • Open to filmmakers worldwide.
  • All experience levels are welcome.
  • Submissions may be made by individuals or teams.
  • The submitter must have the rights to the film and all included content (music, footage, images, etc.).

2. What You Receive (Awards & Recognition)

We will be selecting multiple winners.

Winners Receive:

  • An official Borderless Frames Winner laurel (digital file)
  • A feature on BorderlessFrames.com (Winner Spotlight)

Selected Filmmakers May Also Receive:

  • A filmmaker interview and editorial feature through our partnership with @emergingartistsmag
    (Selection is based on availability, fit, and editorial scheduling.)

Note: This round is a recognition-based competition and does not include monetary awards.

3. Submission Requirements

To be eligible, your submission must include:

  • Film title
  • Filmmaker name(s)
  • Country of production
  • Runtime
  • Logline or short synopsis
  • Film file or private screening link (with password if needed)
  • Poster or still image (recommended)

4. Accepted Genres & Formats

We accept films of all genres, including but not limited to:

  • Narrative
  • Documentary
  • Experimental
  • Animation
  • Student Films

Accepted formats include:

  • Short films
  • Micro shorts
  • Web series episodes (single episode submissions are allowed)

5. Language & Subtitles

  • Films in any language are eligible.
  • If the film is not in English, English subtitles are strongly recommended.

6. Deadlines

Please submit before the deadline listed on the official competition announcement and submission page. Late submissions may not be reviewed.

7. Judging & Selection Process

All submissions will be reviewed by the Borderless Frames team.

Films are evaluated based on:

  • Storytelling and originality
  • Directing and creative vision
  • Cinematography and sound
  • Editing and pacing
  • Emotional impact and overall execution

Decisions are final.

8. Notification & Announcements

Winners will be notified via the email provided at submission.

Results may also be announced through:

  • BorderlessFrames.com
  • Borderless Frames social platforms
  • @emergingartistsmag (when applicable)

9. Website Feature & Promotion Permission

By submitting, you grant Borderless Frames permission to:

  • Share your film title, poster/stills, trailer clips, and short excerpts (for promotional purposes)
  • Feature your film on BorderlessFrames.com if selected or awarded

This does not transfer ownership of your film. You retain full rights to your work.

10. Disqualification Policy

Submissions may be disqualified if:

  • You do not own the rights to the content submitted
  • The submission contains stolen, plagiarized, or unauthorized material
  • The entry includes false information
  • The film link is broken or inaccessible during review

11. Refund Policy

All submission fees are non-refundable.
